CHINA
China
is promoting composting as the major method of processing
domestic waste. Composting has been supported by governments at
different levels, for it has solved, to a certain extent, the
problems caused by embedment (landfill) and the cost of
investment and operation is lower than that of incineration and
other alternatives. The Chinese Environmental Protection
Authority has passed regulations to ensure the treatment of
waste streams meet their guidelines of “harmlessness, quantity
reducing and resource making. With the development of industry,
construction of new cities and the expansion of old cities,
environmental problems have become more severe. Consequently,
the Chinese government has reacted by implementing stronger
environmental protection standards as part of their strategy for
the “sustainable development of China”. Both composting and
Vermistabilisation are universally approved waste treatment
methods that have a positive impact, comply with the above
regulations and standards and provide a profitable alternative
with the development of a new environmental industry.
GreenPlanet has a unique formulation for Powerplant for the
‘Hothouses’ market for China, This is the strongest liquid formulation on the market
and is balanced by GreenPlanet’s micronutrients, This will result in a reduced
growing cycle and a higher yield. Food production from hothouses
presents an exciting opportunity to market the Fertigation Unit
as an ideal methodology of applying Powerplant fertilizer
through existing reticulation systems.
NIGERIA
GreenPianet
have a Powerplant manufacturing facility on the ‘GreenPlanet
Farm’, which is a very substantial holding comprising 1400
hectares in the Jos Plateau State of Nigeria. The farm produces
an extensive range of produce, includes bananas, tomatoes,
fruits, salad items and vegetables. The GreenPlanet Farm is
being developed into a ‘show case farm' demonstrating the
benefits of environmental friendly agriculture. The success of
the farm is creating much interest i Powerplant fertilizer and
the Sonic Bloom technology, and demand is expected see the
development of further manufacturing, plants throughout the
country.
GHANA
Ghana is one of the most developed countries in tropical
Africa. The GNP per capita is above average for Western Africa.
Ghana’s economy is based mainly on agriculture and
mining.
Agriculture accounts for nearly half GDP and employs over 50% of
the work force. Main export crop is cacao, coffee, palm
products, and tropical fruits are exported in small quantities.
Agricultural products include cassava, yams, corn, sorghum, and
rice.
GreenPlanet can capitalize on our presence in the area
through our relationship with ‘Agrovets’, our joint venture
partners in Ghana. The Powerplant factory is situated on the
outskirts of the capital city Accra. Agrovets have considerable
experience with marketing of agricultural products in Ghana and
have an extensive existing customer base. There is demand for a
further factory to service the north of the country, which will
open up further extensive agricultural markets. |
